Concerto Marta Fiolić Quintet - Alcantarilha Gare
The love of music was almost inevitable. Marta grows enveloped by the melodies of her mother’s piano, as well as those of countless musicians who pass trough the concert halls and studios where her father worked as a sound engineer.
At the age of 6 she began her studies in classical music, with piano as her main instrument, finishing the course at the age of 17 at the “Zlatko Baloković school” in Zagreb, Croatia. Parallel to the piano, singing was gaining more and more relevance, she was parto of several choirs, and during her adolescence she develops a special taste in genres like Jazz, Soul and Funk and begins to act as lead singer in bands of the city of Zagreb, among them “ Marta’s ” and ” Dementronomes ”. About 3 years ago she moved to Portugal, and since then she has performed in many different venues throughout the country.
In this concert, Marta Fiolić is accompanied by Cláudio Alves (guitar), João Ferreira (piano), Hugo Santos (double bass, bass guitar) and Maximiliano Llanos (drums). This quintet will presente a varied repertoire, including Swing, Soul, Gospel and R&B. Classics like “It’s not Necessarily so”, “Something’s got a hold on me”, among others, will be featured.
