Jackie O'Grady, director of The Silver Mask Theatre Group, will bring her troupe to Restaurante Recanto dos Mouros (Silves) on the 27th March 2015 for their opening performance for the year. The format will be a series of 8 short plays selected over the winter months by Jackie and the actors committee following a 3-Course Dinner plus drinks.
I have been allowed to attend the last few, pre-dress rehearsals and can confidently say the content will inform, stimulate challenge and, very importantly have you laughing your socks off. Jackie's fearless direction has released the full potential of the plays and although I expect some stand out performances on the night it is the solid professionalism of the group's now experienced and stage honed actors which make possible these daring performances.(by Kenneth Struthers, Algarve Show biz Journalist)

You are very welcome to attend our new Theatre Show at the end of this month.
We have chosen two beautiful venues with great food & atmosphere.
27 march: Recanto dos Mouros is situated behind the Castle of Silves, serving great traditional food.
28 march: Amadeus Garden is located just after monumental site of Alcalar (near Alvor).

8 short plays - scenes from real life, day by day
1. Trouble in the works. A gloriously oblique look at the hopeless industrial relations of the last century. Nothing appeases the frustrated factory workers - only disruptive, destructive, negative sullen behaviour backed by the unions to pull down the edifice of capitalist Britain. Dry humour at its best
2. The Bridge. A nicely crafted, delicate look at human despair with an unexpected antidote, unknowingly administered by a passing drunk. A wake up call for any wingers out there.
3. The Bank. Blind burocracy faced with foolish nonsense from a financially illiterate customer and a incompetent bank robber. Light hearted fun.
4. The Postman. Everyone on different wavelengths but trying to address the same fundamental issue - a postman's duty to the community. A funny look at communication amoung people.
5. Yoga. How easily we lose interest in the latest fad.
6. Nicole. Wonderful scope to highlight the gulf of difference between men and women's attitude to sex.
7. Mrs Jones. Petty greed, poetic justice, nice ending good laugh.
8. Flatmate. The morning after the night before with modest consequences. A good laugh, especially if you have done it yourself.
